The Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES) Enugu organized a one-day seminar focused on the Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) to engage and inform stakeholders and committee members about its objectives, relevance, and operational processes.

The seminar was convened to underscore the importance of GRM in ensuring transparency, accountability, and conflict resolution within project activities. It served as a platform to clarify the mechanisms through which grievances can be reported, processed, and resolved in a fair and timely manner.

The State Project Coordinator, Dr. Ifeyinwa Nnajieze, gave an opening remark where she expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders and committee members for their presence and dedication to the success of the project. She encouraged active collaboration in the implementation of GRM to ensure smooth project execution and stakeholder confidence.

The Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Agriculture, Mr Victor Ngwu also delivered an encouraging address. He highlighted the relevance of GRM as a critical tool in promoting accountability and fairness in public service delivery, particularly in agricultural development initiatives.

A key moment in the seminar was the presentation by the Social Safeguard Officer, Mrs. Blessing, who delivered an impactful and well-received session. In her presentation, she thoroughly addressed the roles and responsibilities of the GRM, emphasizing its importance in safeguarding the interests of project-affected persons. She explained the step-by-step grievance process, the expected timelines for response, and the need for the GRM Committee to handle complaints objectively, confidentially, and efficiently. Her presentation clarified how the GRM contributes to minimizing conflicts, ensuring inclusiveness, and improving project outcomes.

The seminar concluded with a renewed commitment from all participants to support and uphold the grievance redress process throughout the lifespan of the L-PRES project in Enugu State.
