The Third-Party Monitoring (TPM) Team from Maxvidel on Saturday, June 20, 2026, conducted an assessment visit to the Enugu State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) Project to evaluate the progress and overall impact of the ongoing project aimed at transforming the livestock sector across the state.

The monitoring exercise commenced with a warm reception and introductory session at the Enugu State L-PRES Project Office. Speaking during the visit, the State Project Coordinator, Dr. Ifeyinwa Nnajieze, welcomed the TPM delegation led by Mr. Chijioke Ndem and expressed appreciation for their continued commitment to ensuring transparency, accountability, and project effectiveness.

Dr. Nnajieze acknowledged the positive contributions of previous monitoring visits, noting that the observations and recommendations provided by the TPM team had significantly enhanced the project’s documentation processes and reporting standards. She reaffirmed the commitment of the Enugu State L-PRES team to delivering a world-class livestock development project that would create lasting benefits for livestock farmers and stakeholders throughout the state.

In his remarks, the TPM Team Leader, Mr. Chijioke Ndem, expressed delight at returning to assess the project’s progress. He commended the dedication, professionalism, and hard work demonstrated by the Enugu State L-PRES team in implementing the project and driving the vision of livestock sector transformation in the state.

The assessment exercise began at the Enugu State L-PRES Conference Hall, where the monitoring team conducted a comprehensive review of project documents, implementation records, and operational reports. During the session, the TPM team engaged project officials with a series of questions regarding project execution, compliance, and performance indicators. The team expressed satisfaction with the quality of documentation presented and praised the project’s record-keeping and administrative processes.

Following the documentation review, the TPM team proceeded to the project site located at Ubahu/Amankanu, home to the Enugu State Livestock Development Centre. Upon arrival, the team was received by contractors and site officials led by Mr. Jerry of AWAA, who provided an overview of the ongoing construction and development activities.

During the site inspection, the TPM team observed substantial progress compared to previous visits. The transformation of the facility was evident, with significant infrastructural developments and visible improvements across various sections of the project site. The team expressed admiration for the pace and quality of work achieved so far, describing the progress as remarkable and encouraging.

Speaking during the inspection, Mr. Jerry commended the Enugu State L-PRES Project Management Team for their continuous supervision, technical guidance, and support, which he said had contributed immensely to the successful implementation of the project. He assured the TPM team that the contractors remained fully committed to delivering a state-of-the-art livestock development facility that would rank among the best in Africa and potentially compete with leading livestock infrastructure globally.

As he guided the monitoring team around the facility, Mr. Jerry highlighted the collaborative efforts among the various contractors working on the project, emphasizing their shared determination to ensure the successful completion of all project components. He also advocated for the integration of solar energy solutions to power the facility, citing the long-term economic benefits, sustainability, durability, and reliability of renewable energy compared to conventional electricity sources.

At the conclusion of the site tour, the TPM team expressed satisfaction with the significant improvements recorded since their last assessment visit. They commended the Enugu State L-PRES Project for maintaining high implementation standards and demonstrating steady progress toward achieving its objectives.
