As part of the ongoing effort to enhance rural livelihoods in Enugu State, the L-PRES Enugu team carried out a focused sensitization and profiling exercise for livestock farmers in Agu Odoo, Obinagu Udi, a peaceful agrarian settlement nestled in the hills of Udi LGA. This engagement was designed to create awareness about the L-PRES initiative and to capture accurate data on livestock farming activities, with the goal of identifying challenges, mapping opportunities, and selecting eligible beneficiaries for targeted interventions.

The L-PRES team was warmly received by the farmers. The session began with briefings on the objectives of L-PRES, highlighting its focus on improving productivity, sustainability, and health well being of the livestock.

The interactive nature of the session allowed farmers to voice their concerns, ask questions, and share traditional knowledge and experiences in rearing their livestock. Following the sensitization, a detailed profiling of livestock farmers was conducted. The profiling focused on gathering data. Each participating farmer was carefully documented, and initial needs assessments were recorded to guide future interventions. The enthusiasm shown by the farmers demonstrates a clear demand for knowledge, tools, and access to improve their livestock-based livelihoods.
