NPS VISITS ENUGU LPRES ON PROCUREMENT MATTERS

The visit to the LPRES Enugu State Office was conducted as part of the National Office’s ongoing support to State-level operations. The primary objective was to engage with the PIUs on procurement-related matters, ensure compliance with project guidelines, and provide technical guidance where needed. The meeting reviewed the current procurement plan and discussed progress on implementation, addressed specific challenges faced by the State Office in executing procurement activities, reiterated the importance of adhering to World Bank procurement procedures and LPRES guidelines, and provided clarifications on documentation requirements and contract management practices.

Mr Afam Ngene, the State Procurement Officer demonstrated a good understanding of procurement procedures and need for improved record-keeping and filing of procurement documentation.

Mr Kunle Adeoye, The National Procurement Specialist encourage the PIUs on Expedite internal approval processes to reduce delays and ensure all procurement documentation is properly filed and easily retrievable for audit purposes and they should also continue to seek guidance from the National Office when uncertainties arise in procurement execution.

Mrs Chizoba Itodo, the Monitoring and Evalution Officer on behalf of the State Project Coordinator, Dr Ifeyinwa Elizabeth Nnajieze gave a vote of thanks and express her gratitude to the National Procurement Specialist, Mr Kunle Adeoye for a successful and productive session and promised a continuous engagement that will be essential to support the effective delivery of procurement activities at the State level.
